Off the job, Sarnia Firefighters are consistently supporting the community by contributing to various local charities as well as dedicating countless hours by volunteering at local events and organizations.
HOW WE HELP
The SPFFA Community Benefit Fund is a non-profit charitable fund run by Sarnia Firefighters. Every dollar raised through charitable event or your donation goes right back into Sarnia-Lambton. We give back to local charities that need urgent funding to assist them in reaching their mission!

Yesterday evening around 11pm Sarnia Fire Rescue Firefighters responded to a structure fire on the 200 block of Tecumseh Street. Upon arrival crews were met with heavy smoke and heat conditions in the commercial building. Crews had to force entry into 2 separate units and were able to get the stubborn fire under control within the hour. Before 10 am this morning, Sarnia Fire Rescue C-shift Firefighters responded to a structure fire on the 200 block of Emma Street. Enroute firefighters were updated an occupant may still be inside and upon arrival were able to quickly locate and assist that occupant from the structure. The fire was located in the basement and was extinguished without extension to the rest of the dwelling. The occupant was taken to Bluewater Health by Lambton EMS as precaution.
