HOW WE HELP
The SPFFA Community Benefit Fund is a non-profit charitable fund run by Sarnia Firefighters. Every dollar raised through charitable event or your donation goes right back into Sarnia-Lambton. We give back to local charities that need urgent funding to assist them in reaching their mission!

Around 3:00 p.m., Sarnia Fire Rescue responded to a report of a possible drowning in the area of The Cove.
Marine 1, 2 and 3 were immediately dispatched by water, while additional crews responded by land. Firefighters began an extensive search of the area with assistance from bystanders who had witnessed the incident.
For approximately 5.5 hours, crews conducted a systematic search using the specialized equipment aboard Sarnia Fire Rescue’s marine units, including sonar and 3-D imaging technology.
The search effort expanded to include multiple agencies and organizations, including the Canadian Coast Guard, Ontario Provincial Police marine and helicopter units, Point Edward Fire & Rescue, members of the Sarnia Yacht Club, St. Clair Sherrif and Chesterfield Fire Department, whose dive teams responded to assist with the search.
After several hours of searching, an individual was located and recovered from the water.
